Invisalign clear aligners can give you the straight, even smile that you’ve always wanted. This revolutionary system uses a series of clear, custom fit, plastic aligners to gently shift your teeth into position without the hassle of traditional metal braces.
Once your dentist has determined that you are a good candidate for Invisalign they will use Invisalign’s iTero Element scanner to quickly capture a series of accurate images of your teeth, which are then stitched together into a 3D model. This model forms the blueprint for your custom made Invisalign clear aligners.
Your dentist will use Invisalign’s ClinCheck software to fine tune the shift of every tooth so that they can create a road map to guide your teeth as you straighten your smile. Once this road map is developed your dentist can show you a preview of your smile, so you can see the results before you even begin.
Once your road map is complete, your dentist will send that information to Invisalign, who will then create a series of clear aligners specifically tailored to your mouth and dental needs.
You will wear each set of aligners for between 1 and 2 weeks, depending on your dentist’s specific recommendations. For best results, you should wear your aligners for between 20 and 22 hours per day. Your dentist will also track your progress by scheduling check-ups every 6 to 8 weeks, during which you will also pick up your next set of aligners.
As you shift from one set of liners to the next, you may experience a small amount of pressure or discomfort for the first few days. This is perfectly normal and isn’t a cause for concern.
To help ensure parental piece of mind aligners for teenagers are manufactured with blue compliance indicators, which help parents ensure that their children are wearing their aligners for enough time each day.
You will need to remove your aligners before you eat or drink, and brush your teeth before you put them back in.
Eating and Drinking +You should rinse your aligners each night before bed and give them a gentle brush with your toothbrush. This will remove any debris that has built up during the day and keep your aligners fresh and clean. Then, you should use the Invisalign cleaning system to keep your aligners clean.
